Black Canadians

(New immigrants to Canada)

We aim to provide our target community with information about how money works in Canada, the Canadian financial system, the credit score and personal financial management basics including earning, spending, budgeting and savings.

Financial wellbeing is defined as the extent to which individuals can comfortably meet their current financial commitments and needs; and also in the future. It entails five key areas:

  • financial behaviors,
  • economic factors,
  • psychological factors,
  • social factors and
  • knowledge & experience factors

WOORR will be focusing on addressing all these areas. Our portal will provide insights for our target community members on how they can:

  • Save their money and build emergency funds
  • Prepare and follow a budget,
  • Reduce their debt,
  • Improve credit scores by paying their bills on time,
  • Increase personal assets,
  • Plan their finances, and
  • File their personal taxes.
